Job summary

Wynn Al Marjan Island in the UAE seeks a Show Operator Audio (Assistant) to join the Theater Operations team. You will supervise staff in absence of the Head of Audio and help maintain safe, consistent operation of all show audio systems.

Responsibilities include mixing live sound, troubleshooting equipment, supporting other departments, and upholding safety standards in a high-energy theatrical environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years as an audio technician for a large-scale show.
• Experience with Meyer Sound, AVID, Sennheiser/Shure gear and audio consoles.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff in the absence of the Head of Audio with the Technical Manager on duty.
• Maintain safe and consistent operation of all audio systems for rehearsals and performances.
• Troubleshoot and repair audio and communication equipment as needed.
• Operate the audio console and mix live for rehearsals, performances, and events.
• Assist with inspections and maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Support other departments with audio services as required.
• Adhere to safety policies and maintain a safe working environment.
• Foster a positive atmosphere for show personnel.

Job Description

Wynn Al Marjan Island will be the first integrated resort in the UAE. Set to open in 2027, the resort will be located 50 miles from Dubai International Airport in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. The resort will offer 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges, and bars, a theater, and a beach club. It will feature multiple swimming and wading pools, a five-star spa, a salon, a shopping promenade, and a celebrations and events center.

About the Position:

Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Show Operator Audio (Assistant) to join theresort’s Theater Operations team.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:

• In the absence of the Head of Audio, to supervise the employees in conjunction with the Technical Manager on duty.
• Assist the Department Head in establishing and maintaining safe and consistent operation of all audio show systems for rehearsals and performances.
• Maintain and troubleshoot audio and communication systems and equipment.
• Operate the audio console and mix live audio for rehearsals, performances and special events.
• Assist with inspections and maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Assist and provide audio services to the other departments as needed.
• Adhere to all company and departmental safety policies with emphasis on maintaining a safe working environment.
• Assist with creating a positive atmosphere for all show personnel.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimumof three(3) years’ experience asan AudioTechnicianfora large-scaletheatricalor production show.
• Experience with a wide variety of modern sound technology and audio control systems as it pertainsto operation, installation, use, and troubleshooting.Equipment toinclude;Meyer Sound Speaker Systems, AVIDS6M40, AVID24DBundle, Apple computers and software, Sennheiser Wireless Mics, Shure Mics, Clear Comm, Blackmagic Design Video System.
• Experience in speaker and electronic repairs.
• Must have the ability tomaster current and upcoming audio technology.
• Must be highly organized and be able to function in a stressful environment.
• Mustpossessexcellent problem-solving skillsand be able to act quickly to different situations.
• Mustbe organized and have greatattention to detail.
• Ability to learn or update lifesaving skills and to become CPR/First Responder trained.
• Ability toidentifysafety concerns and conform to safe working procedures.
• Ability, experience, and comfort in working at high elevations in a theatrical environment.
• Mustmaintainrelevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
• Mustpossessgoodwritten and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong computer skills andproficiencyin Microsoft Office 365.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings,weekendsandholidays).
• Must have the ability to work with individuals fromdifferent culturesand backgrounds.
• Have relevant OSHA/IOSHor alternateindustrystandard qualifications.
