Job summary

Acwa in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Shift Charge Engineer to oversee all operational activities during the shift, monitor performance and provide technical support to ensure efficiency, productivity and safety of the NOMAC plant, while achieving production targets.

The role requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering with extensive desalination and power generation plant experience, SAP and IMS knowledge, plus strong leadership to guide shift staff and coordinate with other departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• 8 years’ experience in water desalination and power generation plants with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of plant equipment.
• SAP working knowledge preferred.
• New IMS system awareness/working knowledge preferred.
• Project Management.
• Mentoring, coaching and people management skills.
• Knowledge of NOMAC operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise shift team to meet targets and deliver the business plan.
• Monitor plant performance and provide operations engineering support on shift.
• Oversee day-to-day shift staff activities ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Review SOPs/processes and suggest improvements to optimize resources.
• Monitor performance and take corrective actions during disturbances.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely execution.
