Job summary

Al Futtaim Private Company (LLC) through BYD Electric Mobility is seeking an EV Service Technician in Abu Dhabi to diagnose, maintain and repair BYD electric vehicles. You will troubleshoot high‑voltage systems, manage battery diagnostics, and perform repairs following manufacturer guidance to uphold safety and quality standards.

The role requires 2–3 years in automotive diagnostics, hands-on EV experience, and a strong commitment to exceptional customer service in a fast‑growing EV environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent technical qualification required.
• 2–3 years of experience as Automotive/EV Technician or similar.
• Hands-on diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of EVs or hybrids.
• Familiarity with high-voltage safety and EV charging concepts.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance and repair work on BYD EVs.
• Troubleshoot EV systems, including high‑voltage components and batteries.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and EV safety standards.
• Complete repairs correctly the first time to minimize downtime.
• Support vehicle inspections and EVC reporting, and ensure safe workshop practices.
• Stay updated on EV technology and best practices, using diagnostic tools as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team to deliver quality customer service.

What You Will Do

• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair work on BYD electric vehicles
• Diagnose and troubleshoot EV systems, including high-voltage components and battery systems
• Carry out repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines and EV safety standards
• Complete repairs right the first time, minimizing vehicle downtime
• Perform vehicle inspections and support Electronic Vehicle Check (EVC) reporting
• Follow all high-voltage safety procedures, workshop processes, and 5S standards
• Ensure efficient use of parts, tools, and workshop resources
• Work closely with supervisors and team members to deliver exceptional customer service
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EV technology and the latest automotive innovations'

What Equips You for the Role

• Diploma, ITI, NCVT, ITC, or equivalent technical qualification
• 2-3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, Service Technician, General Repair Technician, or EV Technician
• Hands-on experience in vehicle diagnostics, maintenance, and repair
• Experience working on Electric Vehicles (EVs) or Hybrid Vehicles is highly preferred
• EV or High-Voltage (HV) certification is an advantage
• Experience using manufacturer diagnostic tools and repair manuals
• Good understanding of electrical, electronic, and high-voltage vehicle systems
• Valid UAE driving license is an advantage
