Job summary

Fairmont Ajman, a beachfront 5-star hotel in Ajman, seeks a diligent Server to deliver exceptional guest service across our dining venues. You will present menus, take orders, and coordinate with kitchen and bar teams to ensure memorable experiences for guests.

Qualifications

• Experience in luxury hotel or upscale restaurant is an asset.
• Fluent English; additional languages are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and acknowledge guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
• Provide attentive and personalized food and beverage service throughout the guest experience.
• Communicate confidently with guests, understanding their needs and preferences.
• Present menus, explain food and beverage offerings, and provide recommendations when required.
• Take and accurately process guest orders, ensuring special requests and dietary requirements are communicated to the relevant team members.
• Serve food and beverages efficiently and according to established service standards.
• Maintain a strong knowledge of the restaurant’s menus, promotions, ingredients, and beverage offerings.
• Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests, concerns, and feedback.
• Ensure tables, service areas, and equipment are clean, organized, and properly maintained at all times.
• Assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures, including mise-en-place and replenishment.
• Coordinate effectively with the kitchen, bar, stewarding, and other departments to ensure smooth service.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and hotel standards.
• Handle guest complaints professionally and elevate concerns to the Supervisor or Manager when required.
• Promote additional food and beverage offerings where appropriate to maximize guest satisfaction and outlet revenue.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Participate in hotel training programs and continuously develop product and service knowledge.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by the F&B Supervisor or Manager.

Job Description

As a Server with Fairmont Ajman, you will be an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our dining experience. Your warm, personal attention and knowledge of our outstanding Food & Beverage offerings makes guests of our restaurants and lounges feel unique and valued.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a food and beverage operation, preferably within a luxury hotel or upscale restaurant is an asset
• Previous point of sale system experience an asset, but not required
• High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality qualification is an advantage.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Positive attitude, professional appearance, and excellent grooming standards.
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
