Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Signage and Wayfinding Designer to join our Dubai studio, leading wayfinding systems from concept to implementation while coordinating with regional teams and clients. The role requires strategic thinking, strong design sensibilities, and the ability to mentor junior designers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in graphic design, Environmental Design, Industrial Design, architecture or related field.
• +6 years of experience in signage and wayfinding design with international or Middle East projects.
• Familiarity with Arabic typography, cultural symbolism, and regional design codes.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Rhino, KeyShot rendering.
• Strong communication skills with remote collaboration and client engagement.
• Present design proposals to clients and implement revisions.
• Supervise the production and installation of signage to ensure design quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of signage and wayfinding systems for large-scale urban, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use projects in the Middle East.
• Create bilingual (Arabic/English) wayfinding strategies reflecting regional culture and improving user experience.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies and with clients.
• Prepare comprehensive design documentation including sign location plans and schedules.
• Coordinate with regional teams during site audits, stakeholder presentations, and installations.
• Ensure compliance with accessibility standards, regulations, and cultural sensitivities.
• Stay informed on materials, fabrication techniques, and sustainability practices for signage in the Middle East.
