Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Design Engineer - Water in Dubai to lead design and implementation of complex water infrastructure projects, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for the region.

You will oversee water treatment, distribution and wastewater system design, perform hydraulic modeling, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with UAE standards and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field; Masters preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in water engineering design with a proven track record.
• Advanced knowledge of water engineering principles including water treatment, distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater management.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) and hydraulic modeling software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent project management abilities including handling multiple projects.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse teams and clients.
• Knowledge of UAE water regulations and standards.
• Experience in sustainable water resource management.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the design of water treatment, distribution and wastewater systems for large-scale projects.
• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis to optimize system performance and efficiency.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, contractors and government agencies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Ensure compliance with local and international water regulations and standards.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports, technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate design concepts and solutions.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in water engineering technologies and sustainable practices.
