Job summary

DP World in Dubai seeks an experienced Chief Engineer to oversee the overall management and technical operations of its vessel fleet. You will supervise daily maintenance, repairs, budgeting, survey scheduling, and on-board assessments, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations.

You will maintain classification status, drive Planned Maintenance System activities, coordinate with Masters and Engineers, manage spare parts and repairs, and participate in tender evaluations and yard

Qualifications

• Excellent qualitative, quantitative analytic and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with project management tools and engineering software.
• STCW compliance and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee overall management and technical operations of the vessels under charge.
• Ensure safety, efficiency and compliance with Class and Statutory regulations.
• Manage budgets for technical elements and ensure cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers for technical guidance and support.
• Supervise planned maintenance, inspections, and dockings; update PMS records.
• Support tender preparation, bid evaluations and repair yard selections.
