Job summary

Confidential Company seeks an experienced Ship Repair Engineer for operations in Dubai. You will diagnose and repair ship engines, propulsion systems, boilers, pumps, and electrical systems, and will lead a small team of technicians in a busy port environment.

Typical duties include hull repairs and piping, dry-docking planning, project management, inspection and testing, coordinating with shipowners and subcontractors, and ensuring compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental standards

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of ship repair experience, with knowledge of propulsion systems or thrusters.
• Understanding hydraulics, pneumatics, marine electrical systems, and blue print interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair ship engines, propulsion systems, boilers, pumps, and electrical systems.
• Perform hull repairs, welding, piping, and outfitting.
• Plan and schedule dry-docking and repair projects, manage budgets, and ensure timely completion.
• Survey vessels to detect defects, analyze damage, and conduct operational tests.
• Liaise with ship owners, crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards in the shipyard.
