Job summary

MJM Intelligent Solutions seeks an experienced Senior 3D Environment Artist to create game-ready environments in Unity, focusing on modular environments, PBR texturing and real-time optimisation. You will manage lighting, shaders and performance for mobile and high-end targets.

You should blend artistic vision with technical proficiency, delivering complete environments, assets and optimised scenes while collaborating across teams to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in creating high quality 3D environment assets for real-time engines.
• Strong texturing skills using PBR pipelines and texture atlases.
• Hands-on Unity experience with URP, prefabs, materials and scene management.
• Ability to light, bake, optimise assets for performance in real-time environments.
• Familiarity with shaders and visual effects within Unity.
• Experience with mobile game optimisation and texture memory management.

Responsibilities

• Environment creation: model modular environments and props, manage UVs and LODs.
• Texturing and materials: build PBR textures using Substance suite and optimise textures.
• Unity implementation: assemble scenes in Unity URP with proper asset integration.
• Lighting: configure baked and real-time lighting, lightmaps and reflection probes.
• Shaders: develop material effects using Shader Graph and optimise shader code.
• Performance optimisation: reduce draw calls, batching, GPU instancing and occlusion culling.
• Profiling: identify bottlenecks with Unity Profiler and Frame Debugger.
