Job summary

EDGE, headquartered in the UAE, seeks an experienced Test Equipment Systems/Development Engineer to design, develop, validate, and support test equipment for UAV avionics, electrical, mechanical, propulsion, and software systems. This role ensures repeatable, safe, and certifiable testing across multiple domains.

The engineer will define ATE, HIL and simulation benches, develop hardware/software interfaces, and write automated test scripts in Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, and C/C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics.
• Master’s degree preferred in Systems Engineering, Test Systems Engineering/Automation Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test equipment for UAV systems and subsystems.
• Define ATE, HIL, simulation rigs, and test benches.
• Develop test interfaces, signal conditioning, and wiring harnesses.
• Create automated test software/scripts (Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++).
• Ensure interoperability with aerospace protocols (RS-422/RS485, MIL-STD-1553/1760, ARINC 429, CAN, Ethernet).
• Support V&V of test equipment for accuracy and reliability.
• Prepare calibration plans, maintenance procedures, and failure analyses.
