Job summary

Job description

1. JOB PURPOSE:

Supervise and carry out the electrical maintenance, scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and breakdown maintenance of the electrical systems of the Dalma Gas Development (DGD) plant and its associated offshore wellhead towers, to ensure safe, reliable and continuous operation of the power generation and distribution network and all connected equipment. The role also supports project completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities and the handover of new electrical systems into steady-state operation and maintenance.

2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Issue and control isolation certificates/electrical work permitsin accordance withCompany's safety regulations and the general rules to ensure safe operation and maintenance of electrical apparatus on power network, covering HV, MV and LV systems onshore and on the offshore wellhead towers.
• Supervise and carry out repairs onvarious typesof electrical equipment, which includes repairing or replacing defective parts, obtaining necessary spareparts, and tools asnecessary,and testing to ensure equipment functionality.
• Supervise planned and breakdown electrical maintenance work by electrical technicians and contractorpersonnelinstallations ensuring that work is done according to Company's specifications and standards/regulations.
• Carry out preventive or routine maintenance on electrical equipment as instructed by the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, in line with SAP PM plans, OEM manuals and Company maintenance strategy.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspection and diagnostics including insulation resistance, contact resistance, protection relay verification, earthing and continuity checks,thermographyand hazardous area (Ex) inspection.
• Perform safe isolation, earthing, proving dead and de-isolation of HV/MV switchgear, transformers, motor controlcenters, distributionboardsand UPS/DC systems,ECMS/PMS healthiness,and applying the associated interlocking and inter-tripping arrangements.
• Support electrical pre-commissioning, commissioning,energizationand start-up activities for new and modified systems, including loop checking, functional testing, FAT/SAT witnessing, punch list closure, red-line mark-up of drawings and system handover from the Contractor to Operations.
• Support restoration of power supply and emergency/black start arrangements during partial or total loss of power, in coordination with Operations and the Power Management System philosophy.
• Identifyandinitiatenecessary materials requisitions for replenishment of the stock to ensure adequate supplies of stores and spare partsrequiredfor maintenance and repair work in liaise with the Supervisor.
• Maintain up-to-date records of all maintenance work completed including work orders and maintenance log, describe the fault, work carried out and materials, time andmanpowerused, and record test results on various units for further reference.
• Contribute to updating and improving Maintenance Checklists, Procedures & Guidelines, and to the build-up and verification of equipment registers and asset master data for newly commissioned electrical systems.
• Engage in new projects issues and upgraded equipment installation & Performance etc. follow-up. Proactive with a logical approach to challenges.
• Power generation and main distribution - gas turbine generators, emergency diesel generators, step-up unit transformers and the 33 kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) in the main power generation substation.
• Plant distribution network - 11 kV, 6.6 kV and 415 V switchgear, motor controlcenters, distributionboardsand UPS/DC systems,ECMS/PMS healthiness,and applying the associated interlocking and inter-tripping arrangements.
• Secure and emergency supplies-UPS systems, battery banks and chargers, AC/DC distribution boards, emergencylightingand essential services supplies.
• Rotating equipment supplies-HV, MV and LV motors, variable frequency and variable speeddrivesand their associated control and protection.
• Control and monitoring-Electrical Control and Monitoring System (ECMS), Power Management System (PMS), load shedding and auto-synchronization schemes and their field interfaces.
• Offshore wellhead towers and platforms-6.6 kV ring main units (RMU), distribution transformers, LV switchgear and distribution boards, DC/UPS systems, TUTU and splitter box panels, junction boxes, wellhead control panel supplies, subsea composite cable terminations and platform lighting and small power.
• Supporting electrical systems-cathodic protection, electrical heat tracing, earthing and lightning protection, and hazardous area (Ex) electrical installations.

• Provide on-the-job Training to meet Competency Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.

Tool Box

• Maintain all tools, safety gear and equipment provided by company safely and in working condition.
• Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.

Time Management

• Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
• Inform the Maintenance Supervisor in case additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

• Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in the operating procedures, modification of functional processes, machinery or equipment. Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Technical Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 6 years of relevant experiencemaintainingelectrical equipment within a large industrial plant, preferably in the Oil and Gas industry, of which a minimum of 3 years on HV/MV systems and 2 years in an offshore environment.
• Proficient in English.
