Job summary

Tabreed is seeking an Electrical Maintenance professional in the UAE to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on high, medium, and low voltage equipment including switchgears, breakers, transformers, VFDs, UPS, and LV control panels.

The role requires 6–8 years of hands‑on experience, adherence to PTW procedures, and on‑call flexibility for 24x7 emergency support and shutdown activity. A Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
• ADDC Competency Certificate for Switching HV and MV Switchgears
• 6 to 8 years of experience in operating and maintaining electrical equipment comprising HV/MV switchgears, VFDS, SS, UPS, battery charger and LV control panels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment (HV/MV/LV) including switchgears, circuit breakers, transformers, VFDs, UPS, battery chargers and LV control panels.
• Follow safety standards and PTW/work orders; report abnormal situations promptly.
• Provide information and feedback to Supervisors; support maintenance schedule execution.
• Lead team in daily work reviews, coordinate with supervisors, and ensure timely completion.
• Supervise contractors on site and report performance to supervisor.
• Maintain updated records in the Work Order system, timesheets, and digital tablets.

Education

Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

ADDC Competency Certificate for Switching HV and MV Switchgears

Job description

Carries out preventive and breakdown maintenance for all assigned electrical equipment, as tasked by the supervisor in compliance with the Work Order Force -SAP system in most efficient duration to ensure minimal downtime. And to assure that execution is done First Time Right in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

He will also participate in the learning and improvement loop organized by the Supervisor and Line Manager.

He should be well versed in carrying out installation, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical equipment’s (High Voltage / Medium Voltage / Low Voltage)- Switchgears, Circuit Breakers, Transformers, VFD, SS, UPS, Battery Charger ,LV Control panels etc in an efficient manner.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Maintenance Strategy

• Provide necessary information and feedback to Supervisors and when required.

Preventive maintenance

• Perform preventive maintenance, for the electrical equipment, in plants according to established schedule and maintenance cycle.
• Communicate major maintenance requirements to the supervisor in order to schedule corrective maintenance within the suggested / accepted timeframe

Corrective Maintenance

• Respond to faults and failures reported in plants, electrical equipment, through the work order system; visit sites to inspect, trouble shoot and correct the fault as per supervisor instructions / schedule

Electrical Job Requirement

• Test, Maintain and Troubleshoot Electrical equipment’s (High Voltage / Medium Voltage / Low Voltage)- Switchgears, Circuit Breakers, Transformers, VFD, SS, UPS, Battery Charger, LV Control panels etc, in an efficient manner using tools and instruments and to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Carries out duties as per standards and in guidance of site supervisor and reporting of abnormal situation in a timely manner
• Team work and efficiency of job performance towards the customer satisfaction
• Be available on call to work 24x 7 service emergency needs of department requirements and Shutdown activity.
• Be responsible for the safe custody & maintenance of equipment, tools, spare parts and materials in personal custody provided by the Company for work purposes and providing feedback to the supervisor about spare parts
• Notice problem and develop option for potential solution and assist Team member / Technician beyond the regular position requirement. Should be good team player
• Ability to read as built and electrical schematic drawing with excellence in troubleshooting skills
• Active involvement in new projects, upgradation and retrofit works.
• Follow proper PTW / work order and required procedures before any maintenance.

Execution of the maintenance schedule

• To support Supervisor for execution of all plant’s maintenance activities in the assigned area to ensure reliability and continuity of their operations.
• Execute the daily work review - work assignment along with team as per schedule.
• Should be a Team Leader with effective job execution and result oriented.
• Should establish successful communication / feedback with Supervisor and involve in technical discussion
• Solves emergencies with his team based on the instructions of the Supervisor

Contractor management

• Supervise contractor’s works at site and provide feedback on contractor performance to supervisor

Reporting

• Assure the system is updated at the end of every day related to works and work orders, submittal of timesheet, and usage of Digital Tablets
• Feed the required information by Work Order system through service reports to ensure the maintenance of an updated system at all time
