Job summary

Transguard Workforce Solutions in Dubai, UAE, seeks a Senior Technical Designer with a background in interior design or architecture to lead technical documentation for high-end hospitality, luxury residential, or premium mixed-use projects.

You will develop IFC drawings, coordinate with interior designers, architects, MEP, and engineers, and ensure design compliance from concept through handover, including site support and QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years of UAE experience in technical interior design or architectural design.
• Mandatory experience with an Interior Design Consultancy or Architectural Consultancy.
• Portfolio of five-star hospitality, luxury residential, high-end mixed-use, or premium commercial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; strong BIM coordination with Revit; SketchUp is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Technical Design & Documentation: Prepare and review detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, joinery details, and construction documentation; produce and manage IFC drawing packages.
• Design Coordination: Coordinate with Interior Designers, Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders; review drawings for clashes and coordination issues; provide technical guidance.
• Site Coordination & Construction Support: Conduct site visits to ensure works align with drawings; resolve on-site issues; participate in contractor meetings; monitor quality and schedules.
• Quality, Compliance & Authority Coordination: Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards; coordinate inspections with authorities and consultants; document changes and approvals.
• Project Close-Out & Handover: Support snagging, handover activities, and compilation of as-built documentation.

We are currently recruiting a Senior Technical Designer for our Gov't client based in Dubai, UAE for a Period of 12-Months.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer with a background in Interior Design or Architecture, preferably from an interior design consultancy environment. Candidates should have experience delivering high-end hospitality, luxury residential, or premium mixed-use projects and be skilled in developing technical documentation, coordinating stakeholders, ensuring compliance, and managing projects from concept through to handover.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Technical Design & Documentation

• Prepare and review detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, joinery details, and construction documentation.
• Produce and manage comprehensive Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing packages.
• Develop technical solutions that align with the approved design intent while ensuring feasibility, functionality, and compliance.
• Specify materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings in accordance with project requirements and design standards.
• Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and document control throughout all project stages.

2.Design Coordination

• Coordinate closely with Interior Designers, Architects, Structural Engineers, MEP consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Review multidisciplinary drawings to identify clashes, inconsistencies, and coordination issues.
• Provide technical guidance during design development and resolve design-related challenges.
• Ensure all technical documentation accurately reflects the approved design concept.

3.Site Coordination & Construction Support

• Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Resolve technical and site-related issues during project execution.
• Participate in contractor coordination meetings and provide technical direction where required.
• Monitor construction quality and ensure adherence to design standards and material specifications.
• Support Project Managers in tracking progress, mitigating delays, and maintaining project schedules.

4.Quality, Compliance & Authority Coordination

• Ensure compliance with local building regulations, authority requirements, industry standards, and health & safety guidelines.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with relevant authorities and consultants.
• Monitor and document site variations, design changes, RFIs, and technical approvals.
• Ensure all project records and revisions are properly maintained and communicated to the project team.

5.Project Close-Out & Handover

• Support project completion, snagging, and final handover activities.
• Verify that completed works align with the approved design intent and client expectations.
• Ensure all as-built documentation and project records are accurately compiled and submitted.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in UAE in technical interior design or architectural design.
• Mandatory experience with an Interior Design Consultancy or Architectural Consultancy.
• Proven portfolio of five-star hospitality, luxury residential, high-end mixed-use, or premium commercial projects.
• Strong exposure to technical detailing, design coordination, construction documentation, and site execution.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination.
• Experience using SketchUp and visualization tools is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of interior detailing, materials, construction methodologies, and space planning.
• Ability to review and coordinate Architectural, Structural, and MEP documentation.
