Job summary

Mark Williams is recruiting for a Senior Technical Accounting Specialist in Abu Dhabi to join a leading entity. You will work in a small team reporting to the Finance Director and handle complex accounting matters, including acquisitions, disposals and restructurings.

The role requires ACA/ACCA/CPA/CMA credentials, prior experience in a similar capacity, and strong IFRS knowledge with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CPA/CMA credentials
• Experience in a similar senior accounting role
• Knowledge of M&A accounting and IFRS reporting
• Experience in top-tier or Big4 practice preferred

Responsibilities

• Support on technical accounting engagements including acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and business combinations
• Prepare and review financial statements and disclosures ensuring IFRS compliance
• Conduct accounting research and provide clear recommendations to senior finance stakeholders
• Develop accounting papers and supporting documentation for review by senior team members
• Assist with new IFRS requirements and updates to accounting policies and procedures
• Identify opportunities to strengthen finance processes, controls and reporting
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors on technical matters
• Build financial models and perform scenario analyses of transactions
• Monitor IFRS/regulatory changes and accounting developments
• Maintain a strong understanding of technical accounting developments

Mark Williams are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Accounting Specialist for a leading entity based in Abu Dubai.

You will be working in a small team and report into the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support on a range of technical accounting engagements including acquisitions disposals restructurings business combinations and other complex corporate transactions
• Support the preparation and review of financial statements and associated disclosures ensuring compliance with IFRS and relevant regulatory standards
• Undertake accounting research and evaluate complex technical matters to help develop clear recommendations for senior finance stakeholders
• Develop detailed accounting papers technical assessments and supporting documentation for review and approval by senior members of the team
• Help the business with new IFRS requirements and contribute to updates and enhancements to accounting policies and procedures
• Identify opportunities to strengthen finance processes controls and reporting practices across the organisation and its subsidiaries
• Work closely with internal finance stakeholders and external auditors to address technical accounting matters clarify treatments and resolve reporting queries
• Building financial models and undertaking scenario sensitivity and impact analysis to assess the financial implications of proposed transactions and business decisions
• Monitor changes to IFRS regulatory requirements and emerging accounting practices
• Maintain a strong understanding of technical accounting developments

Key Requirements

• Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA
• Worked in a similar role previously
