Job summary

MaktabiTech in Dubai is seeking a technically strong accountant to own the finance function for our Dubai operations and shape how a fast-growing, project-driven business runs.

You will manage monthly close, IFRS reporting, project accounting, budgeting, cash flow planning, VAT/tax compliance, and liaise with auditors. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance and professional qualifications such as CPA/ACCA/ICAEW, plus 5+ years’ experience including Big 4 exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years of experience including Big 4 or equivalent audit exposure.
• Experience with consolidation, group reporting, and internal controls.
• Solid grasp of UAE VAT and corporate tax.
• Clear communicator and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close, reconciliations, and IFRS-compliant reporting for the Dubai entity.
• Manage project accounting: revenue recognition, WIP, cost tracking, and margin analysis.
• Prepare management reports and explain the story behind the numbers to senior leadership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
• Handle UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance, and coordinate with auditors and banks.
• Strengthen internal controls, processes, and systems as we scale.

We’re looking for a technically strong accountant to build and own the finance function for our Dubai operations. This is a role for someone who wants to shape how a project-driven, fast-growing business is run, not just record it.

• Manage project accounting: revenue recognition on multi-phase contracts, WIP, cost tracking, and margin analysis
• Prepare management reports and explain the story behind the numbers to senior leadership
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
• Handle UAE VAT and corporate tax compliance, and coordinate with auditors and banks
• Strengthen internal controls, processes, and systems as we scale

What we’re looking for
