Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to join our Structures Supervision team on major UAE projects. The role leads site supervision activities, coordinates with clients and contractors, and drives delivery of high‑quality structural and infrastructure works.

You will chair meetings, review programs, manage QA/QC, ensure safety, and certify payments in line with contract requirements.

Qualifications

20+ years experience in managing major building projects (high-rise, hotels, large residential/commercial)
UAE consulting background
Proficiency in discipline-specific software tools

Responsibilities

Lead the construction supervision activities for the project.
Establish a construction management plan and standard practices across contracts.
Coordinate with Client and Contractor through formal correspondence and meetings.
Chair and record kick-off, progress, and management meetings.
Establish inspection, testing, and commissioning procedures per contract.
Review the contractor's HSE plan and ensure site safety.
Review programs to ensure detailed schedules, resources and cash flow.
Monitor contractor progress and assess outputs.
Implement QMS requirements and conduct audits.
Coordinate with authorities to avoid delays and attend meetings.
Certify interim and final payments after review with the team.
Prepare substantial completion reports and issue taking-over certificates.
