Job summary

AECOM in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to lead all structural activities across large-scale projects. The incumbent will manage the structural inspection team, ensure QA/QC, and coordinate with the Project Engineer to maintain schedule.

Responsibilities include reviewing contract documents, maintaining records, and issuing NCRs for non-conformities, while guiding the design and site teams toward compliant execution and timely handover.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in structural engineering or equivalent; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of experience in design and supervision of structural works for large-scale projects.
Experience in Middle East/UAE consulting industry preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform QA/QC inspection of structural scope per contract documents.
Analyze codes/standards and project contracts; monitor construction for compliance.
Interpret/clarify contract documents for Contractors.
Maintain records: daily/weekly progress, material accounting, change orders, record drawings.
Provide support to Project/Site Engineer and supervise inspection team.
Lead weekly inspector meetings with Project Engineer.
Ensure responses align with contract documents; resolve issues with Project Engineer.
Audit inspections against contract documents and submitted plans.
Assist Senior Discipline Engineer with technical issues to maintain schedule.
Issue NCRs for violations; monitor snagging and project handover.
Attend progress and coordination meetings to resolve site issues.
