Qualifications
- Minimum 12-15 years' experience in engineering consultancy firms with site supervision experience.
- Proven experience in concrete structure design and analysis.
- A qualified graduate engineer in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Master's Degree/Chartered Engineering will be an added advantage.
Responsibilities
- Works independently and as part of a team to complete specific supervision activities assigned.
- Review structural shop drawings, Calculations, and method statements.
- Conduct site visits to monitor steel erection, enabling works, and piling works, and resolve technical issues.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and installation phases.
- Identify and resolve design discrepancies or structural challenges.
- Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings.
- Review RFIs and provide responses.
- Ensure compliance with international codes, Authority standards and project specifications.
- Monitor construction works to ensure design intent is achieved in the construction phase to the minimum requirements required by approving authorities as the Local Consultant for the project.
- Attend weekly site progress meetings.
- Collaborates/communicates with other disciplines regarding coordination issues and day-to-day supervision activities.
- Maintain awareness of project budgets and timelines, ensuring engineering solutions are cost-effective and aligned with financial objectives.
- Able to represent the practice at project level.
- Ability to supervise a small team of engineers and technicians.
- Role will normally be as Project Engineer on projects of various sizes. On major/more complex projects could take the role of a Design Engineer.
- Be responsible for delivering work to a fee agreed with a Project Manager.
- Prepare and present client and project proposals to stakeholders.
- Supports inspection team to resolve any site activity issues.
- Adopts creative and innovative solutions to site problems/clashes and develops appropriate supportive technical documentation/research reports.
