Job summary

A leading engineering consultant is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their site supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and at least 15 years of experience, including a minimum of 5 years in Construction Administration in the UAE. Key responsibilities include monitoring Mechanical works, reviewing technical submittals, and supervising Mechanical operations. This role focuses heavily on healthcare and hospital projects, making strong technical skills paramount.

Qualifications

  • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience with minimum of 5 years in Construction Administration in UAE.
  • Experience working with healthcare or hospital projects is essential.
  • Must have a complete project understanding from start to hand-over.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Mechanical scope of works for contract compliance.
  • Review and approve all Mechanical technical submittals.
  • Coordinate and supervise all Mechanical activities and operations.

Skills

About the job Senior Mechanical Engineer (VL)

Stantec is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing site supervision team in Abu Dhabi.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitoring the Mechanical scope of works for conformance with the provisions of the contract documents and the procedures manual.
  • Reviewing, approving and processing all Mechanical technical submittals.
  • Answering RFIs related to Mechanical.
  • Coordinating and supervising the work of all Mechanical activities and operations.
  • Reviewing contractors Mechanical change order proposals and preparing recommendations to RE / PM.
  • Liaison with the necessary sub consultants.
  • Reviewing contractors claims related to Mechanical works and preparing recommendations for claims.
  • Reviewing the contractors project record documents relevant to their discipline.
  • Managing the Mechanical inspectors.
  • Analyzing laboratory and testing reports.
  • Assisting with the inspection of completed works and monitoring the start-up, testing, commissioning and handover of the Mechanical works.
  • Signing off on completed Mechanical works with completed documentation.
  • Perform all other duties given by MEP PM.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelors degree in relevant disciplines: Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum Fifteen (15) years experience with minimum of 5 years in Construction Administration in UAE and 5 years in the Middle East with international Consultant firms.
  • Must have experience working with Healthcare, Hospital projects.
  • Strong technical background.
  • Excellent knowledge of Mechanical systems, products and materials.
  • Excellent knowledge of applicable Mechanical design and construction codes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent command of Microsoft Office business solution (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to review and comment properly on necessary documentation.
  • Excellent understanding of specifications and Authority requirements.
  • Complete project understanding in given discipline, from start to hand-over.
