Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to provide expert engineering support and lead small projects on site, mentoring junior staff and coordinating with other disciplines.

You will perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses, review designs and calculations, ensure compliance with design codes, and manage time, budgets, and client expectations while maintaining safety and quality across offshore and onshore structures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering.
• 8-15 years of oil and gas experience with a major contractor or consultant.
• Registered Professional Engineer or member of professional engineering society as applicable.
• Seasoned knowledge of engineering standards and specifications.
• Good knowledge of engineering software.
• Able to work independently.
• Good working knowledge of English, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Perform conceptual, FEED, studies, and detailed analyses as per design basis and standards.
• Direct Engineering team as a Lead Engineer on small projects.
• Prepare detailed design calculations and analyses including reports and procedures.
• Manage time to meet deadlines and budgets; plan short-term activities.
• Mentor Engineers and train staff; coordinate with other disciplines.
