Job summary

Pear Talent - Finance Recruitment in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior SQL Server DBA to own mission-critical production databases and lead SQL Server production support for global operations.

You will drive performance tuning, HA/DR, and automation while contributing to the modernisation of the data platform, including Databricks and cloud data solutions. The role involves 24/7 cross-regional coverage and close collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on Microsoft SQL Server experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in SQL Server performance tuning and optimisation.
• Experience with Always On Availability Groups, HA/DR, replication, backup and recovery.
• Proven experience supporting 24/7 production environments and critical incidents.
• Experience in financial services or high-performance environments is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take senior ownership of a large-scale SQL Server production environment.
• Provide expert support across SQL Server administration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, HA/DR and disaster recovery.
• Lead and resolve complex production incidents with cross-functional teams.
• Analyse and optimise queries, execution plans, indexing, blocking and performance.
• Support and improve backup/recovery strategies and disaster recovery planning.
• Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvement.
