Job summary

REAP HR is recruiting an experienced and hands-on Sr.Sous Chef – Steak & Josper Grill for one of our prestigious client (restaurant) based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a key kitchen position requiring strong expertise in steak preparation, meat handling, charcoal grilling, and Josper/Jasper-style grill operation.

The successful candidate should be confident working with different steak cuts and doneness levels while maintaining consistent quality, portioning, presentation, and kitchen standards.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Sous Chef or senior grill chef.
• Strong steak and grill experience is essential.
• Hands-on experience with a Josper/Jasper-style charcoal grill preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of steak cuts and doneness levels.
• Strong meat preparation and handling skills.
• Experience preparing burgers and grilled products.
• Steakhouse or premium casual dining experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain consistency during high-volume service.
• Menu development/product creation experience is an advantage.
• Previous UAE/GCC restaurant experience is an advantage.
• Nepali and Sri Lankan candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Josper/Jasper-style charcoal grill confidently and safely.
• Prepare and cook different steak cuts according to required doneness levels.
• Handle, portion, prepare, and store meat correctly.
• Prepare burgers and other grilled menu items.
• Maintain consistency in taste, cooking, presentation, and portion control.
• Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service.
• Support the Head Chef and kitchen team during daily operations.
• Assist with menu development and creation of new grill items/products.
• Ensure proper mise en place before service.
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise unnecessary food wastage.
• Maintain high food hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.
• Support smooth kitchen operations during high-volume service.
