Job summary

REAP HR is recruiting an experienced Sr Sous Chef Steak & Josper Grill for a premier restaurant in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on steak preparation, Josper grilling, meat handling, and maintaining kitchen standards in a busy steakhouse environment.

Ideal candidates will have hands-on Josper grill operation, extensive steak knowledge, and prior UAE/GCC restaurant exposure. Excellent teamwork and discipline are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience as a Sous Chef or senior grill chef.
• Strong steak and grill experience essential.
• Hands-on experience with a Josper Jasper-style charcoal grill preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of steak cuts and doneness levels.
• Experience in steakhouse or premium casual dining is advantageous.
• UAE GCC restaurant experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Josper Jasper-style charcoal grill confidently and safely.
• Prepare and cook different steak cuts to required doneness levels.
• Handle portioning, preparation and storage of meat.
• Prepare burgers and other grilled menu items.
• Maintain consistency in taste and presentation during high-volume service.
• Support Head Chef and kitchen team in daily operations.
• Assist with menu development and new grill items.
• Ensure proper mise en place before service.
• Monitor ingredient usage and minimise waste.
• Maintain high hygiene, sanitation and kitchen safety standards.
