Job summary

RIKAS Hospitality Group in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Sous Chef to lead a chef-driven dining destination. You will blend classic French techniques with modern international influences, manage a brigade, and drive menu development while maintaining exemplary quality and presentation.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, a background in chef-driven standalone restaurants, and is ready to contribute ideas in a dynamic, high-end setting in the UAE.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of kitchen experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Sous/Head Chef).
• Strong French culinary foundations and techniques.
• Experience in modern French, Meditteranean, European or contemporary international cuisine.
• Background in quality, chef-driven standalone restaurants.
• Hands-on leadership with brigade management, service, ordering, and cost control.
• Experience with menu and dish development, and creative ideas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the kitchen brigade, delivering high-quality dishes.
• Oversee night service, ensure smooth operations and efficiency.
• Drive menu development and seasonal dish iterations with creativity.
• Monitor food costs, waste, and ordering to optimize the kitchen P&L.
• Coach and train staff to uphold standards of quality and presentation.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and creative Senior Sous Chef to join one of our chef-driven dining destinations in Dubai.

We are looking for someone with strong French culinary foundations, a modern and creative approach to food, and solid experience leading a kitchen operation. The right candidate should be comfortable combining French techniques with international flavours and influences.

What we’re looking for:

• Ideally 6–8 years of solid kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a Sous Chef, Head Chef or similar leadership role
• Strong French culinary techniques and foundations
• Experience in modern French, Mediterranean, European or contemporary international cuisine
• Background in quality, chef-driven standalone restaurants
• Strong operational experience, including managing a brigade, running service, ordering, cost control, training and kitchen organisation
• Experience with menu and dish development, with the creativity to contribute new ideas
• Strong plating skills and attention to detail, while understanding the balance between quality dining and a more relaxed, fun approach
• Good understanding of international flavours and products, particularly MENA and Asian influences
• Experience within Michelin-recognised, Gault&Millau, 50 Best or similar quality-driven restaurants would be an advantage
• UAE experience is preferred
• Hands-on, creative, humble and energetic, with the ability to lead and develop a team positively
