Job summary

Phantom is seeking a backend engineer to design, maintain, and evolve services and APIs that connect Phantom Cash to multiple blockchains. You will balance reliability with speed, and document rigorously to raise engineering standards.

You will mentor peers, help the system scale, and work across distributed components in a fast-paced crypto environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• Strong experience with Node.js and NestJS at scale.
• Experience with event-driven design, queues, retries, and idempotency.
• Solid knowledge of REST API architecture, versioning and authentication.
• Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency and data consistency.
• Pragmatic engineering mindset focused on results and user impact.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Node.js and NestJS at scale
• Experience with event-driven design, queues, retries, and idempotency
• Strong knowledge of REST API architecture, including versioning and authentication
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, concurrency, and data consistency
• Pragmatic engineering mindset focused on results and user impact

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, CI/CD, and observability
• Previous hands-on experience in crypto or fintech (exchanges, wallets, payment rails)
• Understanding of smart contracts and blockchain integration (Solana preferred, EVM acceptable)
• Deep interest in the crypto ecosystem and security norms
