Senior Site Engineer - Vertical MEP

Job summary

AESG is seeking a Senior Site Engineer for an on-site role in Dubai. You will act as a technical authority within the building services project team, supporting delivery of scope, coaching the team, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.

The role requires a degree in MEP/building services, 10+ years of relevant experience, and familiarity with vertical transportation systems. CSA Grade 5 and commissioning authority credentials are desirable.

Qualifications

• MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree
• BSc Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge / Experience in Vertical Transportation systems
• Minimum 10 years of job-related experience
• CSA Grade 5 qualified, desirable but not essential
• Certified Commissioning Authority with BCA, ACG or NEBB, desirable but not essential

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, health and safety and applicable standards
• Review shop drawings, red marked drawings, as built drawings, method statements, technical submittals against project specifications and documentation
• Prepare reports such as NCR, SOR, snag list and RFIs
• Review contractor BIM clash detection for any major issues
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Report issues found to senior team members in a clear, accurate and concise manner
• Liaise with contractors and its commissioning team in a professional manner
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guideline
• Participate in coordination meetings and workshops when required
• Technical authority and leader within the project team and division
• Support, mentor, and train colleagues
• Track completion of tasks, prepare lookaheads and trackers for project milestones
• Keep daily diary of events and activities under your control, including systems inspected, documents reviewed, and any decision made by authorities on site
• Coordinate with other site supervision engineers (mechanical, ID, etc.) for the site coordination of related services.

Senior Site Engineer is a senior role within the building services project team, the person undertaking this role is a technical authority in chosen discipline and a leader within the team. They are self-motivated, support the project manager with delivery of project scope and provide training and coaching to the team.
