Job summary

AESG is seeking a disciplined Building Services Engineer to support commissioning activities within a multidisciplinary project team. You will develop knowledge in testing procedures and ensure procedures align with project specifications and industry standards.

The role emphasizes collaboration with senior staff, on-site inspections, and learning how systems interact in complex buildings. Candidates should have related degrees and multiple years of experience in MEP disciplines.

Qualifications

• MEP/building services engineering degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree.
• Multiple building services disciplines knowledge and commissioning exposure.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior personnel in carrying out commissioning activities
• Develop knowledge in chosen discipline and how different systems interact in buildings
• Conduct site inspections in selected discipline
• Assess whether test procedures and recorded results demonstrate compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Assist with reviewing project documentation for compliance with project specifications and industry codes of practice
• Report issues found to senior team members clearly and concisely
• Liaise with contractors commissioning team professionally
• Carry out site observations with respect to quality of installation
• Monitor installation, submittals and use of engineering tools adhering to project and commissioning guidelines
• Assisting with tracking completion of tasks and preparing lookahead documents

Education

MEP / Building Services Engineering Degree

BSc Mechanical Engineering

BSc Building Services Engineering

MEP / Building Services Engineering College Diploma

HNC, HND or equivalent

MEP / Building Services Engineering College Certificate

ONC, OND or equivalent

MEP Trade Time Served + City & Guilds Certificate

Minimum 2 years of job-related experience + Engineering Degree

Minimum 3 years of job-related experience + College Diploma

Minimum 4 years of job-related experience + College or Trade Certificate

Industry Accreditations

Incorporated Engineer, desirable

CSA Grade 3 qualified, desirable

JOB PURPOSE

• As part of a multi-discipline project team representing AESG, conduct site inspections and verify the tested results are correct.
• Develop knowledge about commissioning processes and test procedures in engineering discipline and demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn.
