Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Managing Counsel to lead regulatory affairs for the EEMEA region. You will work with the global Regulatory team and business functions to interpret laws, advise on licensing, and manage regulator engagements across multiple markets.

The role requires fluency in English and Arabic, a track record in financial services regulation, and the ability to navigate multinational organizations to drive compliant business growth within a dynamic payments landscape.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in the EEMEA region.
• Significant regulatory experience in corporate/regulatory roles.
• Experience with regulatory supervision, advocacy and licensing.
• Strong knowledge of financial and payments regulation.
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory issues clearly in English and Arabic.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory support to the EEMEA business and wider Mastercard.
• Analyze laws affecting Mastercard’s business and licensing in EEMEA.
• Advocate for regulatory reforms via written and oral consultations.
• Identify regulatory changes and coordinate internal responses.
• Submit regulatory filings on time and respond to regulator requests.
• Collaborate across departments to deliver results.
• Assess regulatory risk and implement controls to mitigate.
• Advise on product development to comply with regulatory obligations.
• Represent Mastercard at regulator engagements and industry events.
