Job summary

Dar, a leading member of the Sidara group, invites an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its post-contract team in Dubai. You will manage commercial activities across the project lifecycle and ensure financial control in a dynamic environment.

The role requires GCC experience, a relevant degree, and strong knowledge of BOQs, valuations, and final accounts. You will collaborate with consultants, contractors, and clients to drive accuracy and value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years post-contract experience, GCC experience required.
• UAE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of post-contract QS and cost management practices.
• Experience in interim valuations, payment certificates, variations, claims and final accounts.
• Proficiency with FIDIC and standard contracts.
• Ability to review BOQs, specifications, drawings and contract documents.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage all post-contract quantity surveying and commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, review, and assess interim valuations and payment applications.
• Prepare and review payment certificates in accordance with contractual requirements.
• Monitor project costs, commitments, variations, and financial performance.
• Review and evaluate variations, including quantities, rates, and costs.
• Assess and manage contractual claims, ensuring proper substantiation and compliance with contract provisions.
• Review and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
• Assist in the preparation, negotiation, and agreement of variations and claims.
• Prepare and manage project final accounts, ensuring all financial matters are properly reconciled and closed out.
• Maintain accurate records of commercial and contractual correspondence.
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, clients, and project teams on commercial and contractual matters.
• Provide commercial and cost-control advice to the project management team.
• Identify potential commercial risks and opportunities and provide appropriate recommendations.
• Ensure all quantity surveying activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures, project requirements, and contractual obligations.
