Job summary

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a commercially focused Senior Quantity Surveyor to support major building projects in Dubai. The role covers contract administration, cost control, valuations, commercial reporting, and management of contractual matters throughout the construction lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have 12–15 years of relevant experience, a degree in QS/CE/CM, and a strong grasp of FIDIC contracts, with MRICS being advantageous for this leadership position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or Civil Engineering.
  • 12–15 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with building construction supervision or consultancy projects.
  • Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience with interim valuations, claims, variations, and final accounts.
  • Knowledge of measurement standards (POMI, NRM, SMM).
  • MRICS or equivalent accreditation is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the commercial and contractual aspects of construction supervision projects.
  • Review and assess contractor payment applications and certifiable quantities.
  • Evaluate variation orders, claims, and extension of time submissions.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts, and commercial assessments.
  • Monitor project budgets and identify potential cost risks.
  • Review Bills of Quantities and contract documents.
  • Support procurement evaluations and tender reviews where required.
  • Conduct measurement and valuation of completed works.
  • Participate in progress and commercial meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Prepare recommendations on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Monitor final account negotiations and project close-out activities.
