Job summary

Emirates is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Commercial to reinforce the Quality Engineering team in Dubai. You will design and implement automated API, UI, and contract tests across airline systems including Availability & Inventory, Scheduling, and PSS.

You will lead testing across integrations, guide developers, and ensure test data readiness in CI environments; strong Java and Python experience required with airline domain knowledge.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Commercial, you will join our Quality Engineering team, where quality lies at the heart of our brand. We value diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and ways of thinking, and we are building a talented team of quality engineers who ensure software quality across the entire customer journey from ticket booking and payment processing to the seamless delivery of ancillary services and the efficient operation of our airplanes.

We are looking for professionals with strong airline domain expertise, particularly in Availability & Inventory, Scheduling, and Passenger Service Systems (PSS), combined with proven experience in designing and implementing automated API, UI, and contract testing solutions. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of airline reservation and inventory management processes, schedule distribution, availability controls, and downstream impacts across commercial systems.

You should have hands-on expertise in Java-based test automation, with experience in Python considered a strong advantage. The role requires a strong quality engineering mindset and the ability to validate complex integrations across airline systems and services

In this role, you will:

• Work closely with project members, architects and software engineers to understand the technical landscape and the context of deliveries to translate complex functional and non-functional requirements.
• Work closely with product owners to provide early feedback on any foreseen risks in the product requirements and design.
• Work with the Quality Engineering Chapter team to ensure non-production environments and test data are available to support the complete set of testing activities across feature teams.
• Liaise with other release train teams to manage the testing of cross dependencies.
• Ensure Test Tools are configured correctly and accurately to support the collection of metrics for program and enterprise-wide dashboards.
• Support and guide Software Engineers to write and maintain automated functional tests through continuous integration.
• Implement, maintain, and adapt automation frameworks and test harnesses to ensure robust end to end tests.
• Facilitate the set up and adherence to Quality Gate requirements.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the requirements below:

• Degree or Honours in relevant field such as Computer Science, Computational Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 3 + years of experience in an Information Technology.
• Extensive experience working within airline commercial systems, including Availability & Inventory Management, Schedule
• Management, Reservation Systems, and Passenger Service Systems (PSS).
• Strong understanding of airline concepts such as flight schedules, inventory classes, booking classes, seat allocation, availability calculations, codeshares, schedule changes, and disruption management.
• Proven experience leading quality engineering activities across multiple products within airline commercial or reservation domains.
• Hands-on expertise in developing and maintaining robust UI, API, integration, and contract automation frameworks using Java and modern testing technologies.
• Experience validating complex integrations between PSS, inventory, scheduling, distribution, and downstream consumer applications.
