Job summary

Edge Group in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead Ground Control Station (GCS) development using Qt/C++ and QML, with a focus on robust, high-performance GUI.

You will collaborate with hardware and embedded teams, contribute to the full SDLC, write unit tests, create design docs, and help ensure safety-critical compliance in aerospace environments.

The role demands strong debugging, code quality, and experience with RTOS, networking, and CI pipelines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of software development experience (or 7+ years with a Master’s degree).
• At least 5 years hands-on experience in C++ development.
• Strong expertise in Qt Framework, Qt QML, and GUI-based development.
• Experience with large codebases and safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ground Control Station (GCS) software using the Qt Framework and QML, with a focus on intuitive GUI development.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from planning to deployment.
• Collaborate with hardware and embedded systems teams for seamless integration.
• Perform integration testing to validate system functionality, reliability, and performance.
• Document architecture, design decisions, and requirements; create user guides and unit tests.
