Job summary

Softana, a product development company in Ras Al Khaimah, seeks a QA Automation Engineer to design and maintain end-to-end tests using TypeScript and Playwright. You will work closely with developers across the lifecycle to ensure robust test coverage in a modern stack.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in test automation for product/platform teams
• Proficient in TypeScript/JavaScript for test code
• Experience writing E2E tests near application code in monorepos
• Collaborates with Backend/Frontend/DevOps throughout feature lifecycle
• Familiar with modern E2E frameworks (Playwright or equivalent) and testing principles
• Experience with REST API testing, data validation, and system-level testing
• Designs mocks/stubs/test doubles to ensure stable tests
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/Jenkins/GitHub Actions) and test observability

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end automated tests in TypeScript
• Collaborate with developers through the feature lifecycle and defect resolution
• Define test strategies at feature and system levels
• Contribute to automation framework development and improvements
• Decide on mocks, stubs, or real integrations based on testing goals
• Ensure tests are reliable and CI/CD friendly
• Participate in code reviews for test and application code
• Provide rapid, clear feedback on quality to the team
• Promote built-in quality and continuous testing improvements across the team
