Job summary

Hill International (Middle East) Ltd. in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Project Manager to lead the PMC site delivery for major infrastructure works.

You will manage contractor performance, interfaces, progress, risk and commercial matters, ensuring compliance with program, design, HSSE, cost and reporting requirements. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, 20+ years in GCC infrastructure and at least 5 years in PM delivering roads/utilities/urban development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • 20+ years’ experience in major infrastructure projects in the GCC.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager delivering major roads/utilities/urban development.
  • PMP/APM certification preferred.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead the PMC site delivery construction team for construction works.
  • Manage contractor performance, interface coordination, progress, risk, commercial and contractual matters.
  • Ensure compliance with approved program, design, quality, HSSE, cost and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Employer Engineer, consultants and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Manage tasks related to infrastructure from design stage through to execution and handover phases.
  • Review possible infrastructure package procurement strategies for review, discussion and implementation.
  • Ensure coordination between design, construction and commercial disciplines in terms of infrastructure.
  • Manage construction managers.
  • Review progress and adherence to technical, safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure quality standards across all works are achieved.
  • Ensure that the highest levels of site safety are established, implemented and maintained.
  • Ensure continual compliance with overall project delivery strategies and timescales.
  • Ensure all parties perform in accordance with their contracted services and necessary duties.
  • Evaluate progress on the construction methodology schedules for the infrastructure packages and champion any necessary mitigating actions with relevant parties in respect of cost deviations and/or time slippage.
  • Review contractors’ submitted monthly reports.
  • Ensure perceived project risks are communicated to the project director and delivery teams.
  • Ensure the monitoring and review of consultants and contractors’ performance; give regular objective feedback on progress and deal immediately with poor performance.
  • Ensure adequate risk assessments and method statements are produced, reviewed and signed off.
  • Ensure project risks are timeously identified, recorded and have adequate mitigation strategy and responsibilities assigned and are fed into a central project risk register.
  • Chair meetings as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental requirements and direction.
  • Ensure all necessary commissioning works are undertaken and any necessary snagging lists are actioned accordingly.
  • Ensure completed works comply with standards, sign-off and handover protocols and standards.
  • Ensure all works are coordinated with the overall project site logistics planning and any required modifications are implemented timeously in a proactive manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in major infrastructure (roads/utilities/urban development) projects operating within the GCC Region.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience as a Project Manager delivering major roads, utilities and urban development projects.
  • Strong experience in PMC/construction supervision roles, contract administration, stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Preferably PMP/APM certified.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
