Job summary

Linesight, a leading global project and cost management consultancy, seeks a Senior Project Manager for substations and power infrastructure. Qualifications

• 12–15 years of project delivery experience, with a track record managing complex electrical/power infrastructure projects.
• Substation experience is strongly preferred, including HV/EHV substations and grid connections.
• Experience managing substations through full lifecycle: design, interfaces, procurement, construction, testing, energisation and handover.
• GCC/Middle East experience, especially with local utilities, authorities and approvals.

The Opportunity

In this role you will:

• Be a visible leader onsite, assessing progress and ensuring safe work practices
• Coordinate with the client team, consultant team and the contractor on all snagging activities, including the schedule and partner engagement
• Identify issues proactively and work with the team to resolve effectively.
• Implement and monitor key project processes, partnering with the client to make improvements and revisions
• Lead and attend key meetings to monitor progress, actively collaborate on solving problems and communicate impacts to partners
• Implement project procedures and use reasonable endeavours to ensure that this procedure is always observed.

We would love to hear from you if you:

• Have a minimum 12–15 years’ relevant project delivery experience, with a proven track record managing complex electrical/power infrastructure projects.
• Have significant substation experience strongly preferred, ideally involving HV/EHV substations, grid connections and associated transmission/distribution infrastructure.
• Are experienced managing substation projects through the full project lifecycle, including design, authority/utility interfaces, procurement, construction, testing, energisation and handover.
• Have data Center / mission-critical experience (advantageous); candidates with strong DC electrical infrastructure experience may also be considered where they can demonstrate appropriate HV/substation knowledge.
• Demonstrate GCC / Middle East experience, particularly experience working with local utilities, authorities and approval processes.
• Have experience working with Tier 1 international consultants, EPC contractors, OEMs and specialist electrical contractors on major infrastructure or mission-critical programmes.
• Demonstrate a strong technical understanding of HV electrical infrastructure, including substations, transformers, switchgear, protection/control systems, grid connections and associated interfaces.
• Have a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces, particularly between utility/grid infrastructure, sitewide electrical systems, Data Center MEP systems and commissioning teams.
• Show strong contractor and consultant management capability, with the ability to drive programme, quality, safety, technical resolution and commercial outcomes.
• Exhibit strong programme and project-controls awareness, including schedule management, risk, change, procurement, reporting and identification of critical-path issues.
• Have excellent client-facing and stakeholder-management skills, with experience working within an international, highly structured project environment.
• Have a strong communication and leadership style, capable of reporting to the Project Director while independently owning the substation/power workstream and escalating key risks and decisions appropriately.
