Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead mixed-use development projects from planning through to delivery. You will oversee multi-phase initiatives spanning residential, commercial, retail and hospitality components, ensuring on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery while balancing stakeholder expectations.

The role requires 12+ years in large-scale projects, strong budgeting and risk management capabilities, and excellent English communication.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead mixed-use development projects in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will oversee complex, multi-phase projects that integrate residential, commercial, retail, and hospitality components. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while managing diverse stakeholder expectations and cross-functional teams.

• Direct all phases of mixed-use project development from planning through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
• Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor progress and implement corrective actions as needed
• Manage project budgets and costs, including procurement, vendor management, and contract negotiations
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop contingency plans to address potential challenges
• Coordinate and communicate with multiple stakeholders including clients, architects, contractors, consultants, and government agencies
• Oversee site operations and ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards
• Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability across disciplines
• Prepare and present regular project status reports, financial forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management
• Manage project documentation, change orders, and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle
• Ensure sustainable building practices and compliance with green building standards where applicable

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of project management experience in mixed-use development or large-scale construction projects
• Proven expertise in budget management, cost control, and financial forecasting
• Strong proficiency with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent tools
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships
• Solid understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry best practices
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Advanced contract negotiation and risk management capabilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience working on projects in the UAE or GCC region is highly desirable
• Familiarity with local regulations, building standards, and government approval processes in Abu Dhabi
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent credential is preferred
• Knowledge of sustainable and green building practices is a plus
