Job summary

AECOM seeks an experienced Project Director to lead major mixed-use developments in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will oversee a high-value program, coordinating cross-functional teams and maintaining oversight from conception through execution.

Lead client relationships, develop strategies, negotiate contracts, and ensure delivery within scope, budget, and schedule while upholding regulatory and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 20 years of project management experience in mixed-use development or large-scale construction projects.
• Expert in PMCM methodologies and best practices.
• Proven success managing high-value contracts with complex coordination.
• Strong proficiency in risk management, financial analysis, and contract negotiation.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of 15+ members.
• Proven subcontractor and vendor management track record.
• Excellent organizational and time management with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi codes and regulations.

• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulators for seamless execution.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Project Director to lead our mixed-use development initiatives in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a major project with significant contract values, managing complex coordination across multiple systems and processes. As the primary point of contact with our clients, you will drive project delivery from conception through execution, demonstrating exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

• Direct and manage large-scale mixed-use projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, schedule, and budget parameters
• Serve as the principal liaison between the organization and clients, maintaining transparent communication and building strong collaborative relationships throughout the project lifecycle
• Develop comprehensive project strategies, prepare compelling proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute projects with precision and efficiency
• Lead and mentor diverse project teams of 15 or more members representing multiple business lines, including remote teams and subcontractors
• Analyze and effectively resolve complex and unusual business challenges related to risk management, financial performance, contract administration, and resource allocation
• Oversee budget control, cost management, and financial forecasting to optimize project profitability and organizational resources
• Manage project schedules, timelines, and milestones while maintaining quality assurance standards and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure seamless project execution
• Implement innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency, reduce risks, and improve operational performance
• Monitor project performance metrics and provide detailed reporting to senior leadership and clients
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment that encourages professional growth and accountability

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 20 years of project management experience in mixed-use development or large-scale construction projects
• Proven expertise in PMCM (Project Management/Construction Management) methodologies and best practices
• Demonstrated success managing projects with high contract values and complex coordination requirements
• Strong proficiency in risk management, financial analysis, and contract negotiation
• Extensive experience leading and managing multidisciplinary teams of 15 or more members
• Proven track record of successful subcontractor and vendor management
• Advanced problem-solving capabilities with the ability to address challenging business scenarios
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities
• Proficiency in project management software and tools
• Comprehensive knowledge of UAE and Abu Dhabi regulatory requirements and building codes
