Overview

McDermott International, Ltd is hiring an experienced digitalization leader to lead end‑to‑end Digital Twin projects in the Oil & Energy sector. The role requires expertise in offshore assets, EPC delivery, autonomous operations, and operations & maintenance technology. The specialist will design, develop, and implement Digital Twin solutions that align with customer requirements, business strategy, and McDermott’s roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Digital Twin projects from concept and requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and close‑out.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end Digital Twin solutions in accordance with approved scopes, customer expectations, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a Digital Twin roadmap aligned with business strategy and delivery objectives.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for improving EPC and O&M processes through digitalization.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance project execution, asset operations, maintenance efficiency, and autonomous decision‑making.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve digital platforms, applications, systems, and workflows for operations and maintenance.
  • Optimize digital processes to support timely, cost‑effective, and reliable project delivery.
  • Perform conceptual, FEED, and detailed solution analyses based on project specifications and customer requirements.
  • Translate operational challenges into clear technical requirements, use cases, solution architectures, and implementation plans.
  • Develop project plans combining customer requirements, business goals, technical activities, resource needs, and delivery milestones.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, dependencies, and quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Monitor project performance and address deviations from approved schedules or execution plans.
  • Prepare timely project status reports for management, customers, project owners, and stakeholders.
  • Escalate material technical, commercial, resource, and delivery risks to appropriate leadership.
  • Interface with engineering disciplines, operations teams, maintenance specialists, IT personnel, and customer representatives.
  • Obtain technical inputs required for solution design, data integration, workflow development, and use case definition.
  • Lead design workshops, project alignment sessions, solution reviews, demonstrations, and acceptance testing.
  • Document communications that result in significant decisions, scope changes, responsibilities, or assigned actions.
  • Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify requirements, and maintain compliance with approved procedures and standards.
  • Conduct Technical Quality Audit reviews when required under global procedures.
  • Provide Quality Assurance across technical documents, software outputs, integrations, reports, and deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain departmental technical guidelines, templates, standards, and best practices for Digital Twin implementation.
  • Lead and mentor development engineers, solution specialists, contractors, and external delivery partners.
  • Review technical outputs to ensure solutions follow approved requirements, architecture, cybersecurity controls, and quality expectations.
  • Coordinate managers, developers, engineers, vendors, and technical personnel across all project phases.
  • Establish strong working relationships with project owners, customer teams, subject matter experts, and executive stakeholders.
  • Maintain transparent communication regarding delivery progress, risks, decisions, and required actions.
  • Manage project resources and ensure efficient allocation of technical personnel, contractors, software tools, and budgets.
  • Evaluate project risks and develop practical mitigation measures to protect delivery commitments.
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating project feedback, technical reviews, and lessons learned into future solutions.
  • Identify repeatable use cases and scalable digital capabilities that can be deployed across multiple projects or assets.
  • Analyze operational and project data to identify patterns, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for engineering, operations, and maintenance stakeholders.
  • Present complex technical, operational, and project information clearly to executive and non‑technical audiences.
  • Promote collaboration through active listening, negotiation, conflict resolution, and structured decision‑making.
  • Ensure Digital Twin solutions support applicable Oil and Gas standards, operational requirements, and asset lifecycle practices.
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 8‑12 years of experience in digitalization, Digital Twin delivery, autonomous operations, or related technology programs within the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of offshore Oil and Gas facilities and their engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance lifecycles.
