Job summary

EDGE Group PJSC is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to lead end-to-end hardware development for high-power propulsion and control applications. You will architect, simulate, and verify inverter, rectifier, gate-driver, and protection circuits for PMSM/BLDC and DC machines, ensuring reliability and MIL‑STD aligned qualification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in power electronics and motor drive hardware design.
• Strong knowledge of switching converter topologies and electrical machines.
• Experience with gate driver design, protection, and thermal derating.
• Experience with MOSFET/IGBT/SiC/GaN devices selection and loss calculations.
• Familiarity with high-current PCB layout and Altium/ Mentor tools.
• Knowledge of environmental standards such as MIL-STD-461/810/704 and RTCA/DO-160.

Responsibilities

• Develop power electronics architectures for motor drive and MGU.
• Design inverter, rectifier, and bridge stages for PMSM/BLDC/BDC.
• Create gate driver, protection, and isolation circuits for high-power stages.
• Design starter/generator power conversion and regulation circuits.
• Select power semiconductors and perform loss/derating analyses.
• Design magnetics, sensing, and DC-link/ EMI filter stages.
• Perform thermal design and heatsink sizing for power circuits.
• Develop current/voltage sensing and feedback circuits for closed-loop control.
• Conduct schematic design and high-current/high-voltage PCB layout.
• Run LTspice/PLECS/PSIM/Simulink simulations and verification.
• Ensure EMC/EMI-aware design and environmental qualification.
• Plan power stage bring-up, integration, and test activities.
