Job summary

Supabase seeks an experienced technical support professional to tackle advanced PostgreSQL and backend platform issues in a fully remote role. You will advise customers, reproduce bugs with clear steps, and collaborate with engineering to improve the product.

Join a globally distributed team and help optimize workloads, mentor junior teammates, and contribute to documentation while delivering empathetic, proactive support across Postgres, Auth, and storage components.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in technical support, databases, backend engineering, or SRE.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals (autovacuum, WAL growth, table bloat).
• Strong skills in high-performance SQL and query optimization.
• Experience troubleshooting complex setups and distributed systems.
• Proficiency with data migration tools (pg_dump/restore) and schema drift.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux environments.
• Ability to work within EMEA time zones.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues across Postgres, Auth, RLS, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries
• Provide consultative, proactive advice to optimize workloads and avoid common pitfalls
• Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, and upscale to engineering with solid reproduction steps
• Communicate clearly and empathetically with users during high-impact situations
• Spot patterns across tickets to recommend improvements to documentation and product
• Mentor junior team members to raise the bar for support quality
