Job summary

Remotedxb is looking for a skilled security professional to handle customer security alerts and improve IT security responses. You will be the first point of contact for security incidents and maintain security practices in a fully remote work environment.

The ideal candidate will possess solid experience in technical support roles, a foundational understanding of security concepts, and the ability to work asynchronously across different time zones. Benefits include equity ownership and a tech allowance.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Act as the first responder for security alerts from GuardDuty, dependency advisories, and other detection sources.
• Own customer security tickets including account recovery, MFA resets, and organization ownership disputes.
• Participate in an on-call pager rotation to provide 24-hour coverage in a follow-the-sun model.
• Maintain and improve security runbooks, decision trees, and escalation paths.
• Triage internal IT requests such as access provisioning, SSO/Okta issues, and MDM enrollment.
• Communicate clearly with customers, engineers, and internal stakeholders during time-critical issues.

Requirements

• Experience in technical support, IT helpdesk, junior SOC analysis, or trust and safety.
• Foundational understanding of security concepts like MFA, JWTs, identity verification, and access control.
• Knowledge of IT systems including SSO, identity providers, Google Workspace, and Okta.
• Comfort working with a terminal, basic SQL, and reading simple scripts or macros.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to summarize complex issues clearly.
• Ability to work asynchronously across different time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Postgres, AWS, or developer tool ecosystems.
• Experience with tools like Front, Linear, Notion, Kandji, Jamf, or Vanta.
• Experience with basic scripting and automation to improve workflows.
• Interest in security demonstrated through CTFs, bug bounties, or personal projects.
