Job summary

Timber is seeking a PMC Principal Electric Engineer for a Dubai-based role with a home-office arrangement and occasional client/site visits in Iraq. You will lead electrical design and ensure compliance with international codes while coordinating across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in oil & gas, PMC/EPC experience, and strong ETAP/Navisworks/Dialux skills, plus excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in Electric Design
• 15+ years of relevant experience in the oil & gas sector
• PMC experience required
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering design and analysis
• Knowledge of international codes and standards
• Experience in brownfield work and FEED projects
• Experience in EPC and PMC work; previously in a PMC role
• Experience in supplier package management
• Experience applying HAZOP/HAZID/e-HAZOP to electrical layout
• Experience with electrical design for premade modular packaged devices
• Experience in the Middle East/Iraq would be an advantage
• Strong theoretical knowledge applied practically
• Familiar with industry standards and codes
• Strong logical and analytical abilities
• Excellent communication skills
• Good social skills / team player
• Proficient with ETAP, Navisworks, Dialux and MS Office
• Able to demonstrate teamwork
• Versatile with a can-do attitude

Responsibilities

• Single-point duty for all electrical design deliverables and ensure they meet relevant codes and client standards
• Manage and report progression of all electrical design and design budgets per contract
• Coordinate with other disciplines throughout all design stages, construction, pre-commissioning and start-up
• Provide direction on technical questions and guide EQs/variances
• Attend weekly progress meetings and generate status reports for the Engineering/Project Manager
• Promote safer practices and continual improvement within the department
• Ensure lessons learned are captured and shared
