Job summary

Penspen in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Senior Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to lead electrical and instrumentation activities across the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with client requirements and international standards. The role requires a strong PMC background and 15+ years in oil & gas projects.

You will prepare deliverables, review vendor documents and coordinate with clients, contractors and teams to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
15+ years oil & gas experience in the industry.
5+ years in PMC projects as a senior engineer.
Strong knowledge of electrical power, instrumentation and control systems.
Experience with international codes like IEC/IEEE/ISA/API/NFPA.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical and instrumentation engineering activities across FEED, Detailed Eng, EPC and brownfield projects.
Prepare and approve specifications, datasheets, calculations and diagrams.
Develop equipment specs for transformers, switchgear, MCCs, UPS and field instruments.
Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ISA, API, NFPA and IECEx/ATEX requirements.
Perform load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, cable sizing and earthing calculations.
Review vendor documents and support procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to resolve issues and meet project goals.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL, constructability reviews and design reviews.
Support site surveys, testing, commissioning and handover activities for facilities.
Ensure activities align with quality, HSE and schedule requirements.
