Job summary

Burtplace General Contracting LLC is seeking an accomplished Planning Manager to oversee the time performance of a UAE portfolio and lead a planning team across multiple projects in Abu Dhabi.

The role requires 15+ years in construction planning, strong Primavera P6 expertise, and proven experience with FIDIC-based delay claims; you will provide weekly updates to the Operations Director and ensure accurate delay analyses to support EOT negotiations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited university.
• 15+ years of construction planning experience; at least 5 years as Planning Manager on major UAE or GCC building or infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 Enterprise — including Global Change, User-Defined Fields, three-baseline discipline, retained logic vs progress override, resource levelling, and portfolio-level reporting.
• Experience negotiating TIA-based EOT and prolongation cost claims under FIDIC with defended examples.
• Proven ability to manage a team of Planning Engineers across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Deep knowledge of FIDIC Clause 20 — 28-day notice, 42-day submission, Engineer's 42-day response (FIDIC 2017).
• Experience producing resource-loaded programmes and project cash flow forecasts.
• Experience with all four delay analysis methods: TIA, Windows Analysis, As-Planned vs As-Built, and Collapsed As-Built.
• PMP certification or PMO-P; AACE CCP/PSP membership.
• Experience with Power BI or BI tools for real-time portfolio dashboards.
• Experience with Abu Dhabi construction market (ADHA, Aldar, Musanada, DMT).
• Experience defending claims at DAB level with planning evidence.

Responsibilities

• Own the portfolio's time performance — set planning standards and manage the planning team.
• Produce delay analyses underpinning EOT claims and provide an honest picture to the Operations Director weekly.
• Identify potential delays early and present evidence to support positions.
• Lead and coordinate Planning Engineers across multiple projects.
• Ensure resource-loaded programmes and cash flow forecasts stay aligned with the construction programme.
• Select appropriate delay analysis method (TIA, Windows, As-Planned vs As-Built, or Collapsed As-Built) for each claim.
