Job summary

Careers International is seeking a Planning Engineer in Dubai to develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools. You will align schedules with contractual milestones and client requirements while coordinating with project teams.

The role involves risk analysis, CPA, EOT claims, and progress reporting to management and clients. A 5–10 year background in construction planning and a civil engineering-related degree are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 5–10 years of planning and scheduling experience in the construction industry.
• Certifications: PMP or PSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent tools.
• Prepare baseline programs, work breakdown structures (WBS), and construction methodologies.
• Ensure project schedules align with contractual milestones and client requirements.
• Develop short-term and long-term planning strategies to optimize project execution.
• Track project progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct critical path analysis (CPA) to assess timelines and risks.
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports to management and clients.
• Monitor resource allocation and highlight inefficiencies.
• Analyze project delays and prepare extension of time (EOT) claims.
• Identify bottlenecks and risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Support the commercial team in contractual claims and variation orders.
• Work closely with project managers, site engineers, quantity surveyors, and subcontractors.
• Provide input for tender schedules, contract programs, and cash flow forecasts.
• Participate in progress meetings and present project status updates.
• Ensure schedules comply with project specifications, company policies, and local regulations.
• Assist in planning and scheduling HSE activities.
• Implement best practices in planning, risk assessment, and project execution.
