Job summary

Pinnacle Infotech in Dubai seeks a Senior Planning Engineer to lead construction planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring on large-scale projects. You will use Primavera P6 to build and maintain detailed schedules, establish baselines, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to hit milestones.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years in planning, 5+ years in the UAE, a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field, and a proven track record on AED 100 million+ projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction, testing, and commissioning plans with WBS, sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Create and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Establish baselines, monitor progress, and prepare progress reports.
• Identify delays, assess risks, and develop mitigation/Recovery plans.
• Coordinate with PMs, construction, engineering, subcontractors, and stakeholders to align milestones.
• Monitor progress, analyze variances, and propose corrective actions.
• Prepare planning reports, dashboards, and schedule documentation.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project planning, construction scheduling, and progress monitoring, with strong expertise in Primavera P6, the candidate must have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in the UAE, and a proven track record of working on projects valued at over AED 100 million.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed construction, testing, and commissioning plans, including work breakdown structures, sequencing, and resource allocation.
• Prepare, develop, and maintain comprehensive project and construction schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Establish baseline programmes, monitor project progress, and prepare periodic progress reports and schedule updates.
• Identify potential project delays, assess schedule risks, and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
• Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, engineering teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project milestones.
• Monitor actual progress against planned schedules, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare structured planning reports, progress dashboards, and schedule documentation for management review.
• Utilise Aconex and other project management platforms for document control, communication, and project coordination.
• Ensure effective time management, proactive issue resolution, and timely completion of project activities.
• Maintain accurate planning records and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and critical activities.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in project planning and scheduling within the construction industry.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience working in the UAE.
• Proven experience working on projects with a contract or project value exceeding AED 100 million.
• Strong proficiency in Primavera P6,
• Experience in developing baseline programmes, detailed construction schedules, and testing and commissioning plans.
• Demonstrated expertise in schedule analysis, delay identification and analysis, mitigation planning, and recovery scheduling.
• Strong reporting, analytical, time-management, and organisational skills.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage multiple project priorities and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in large-scale construction, infrastructure, engineering, or building projects in the UAE.
• Familiarity with project controls, progress measurement, critical path analysis, and project reporting standards.
• Experience coordinating construction activities through testing, commissioning, and project handover.
