Job summary

Etihad Rail Operating Companies is seeking a Track & Permanent Way Engineer to safeguard the integrity, safety and lifecycle performance of permanent way assets across the railway network in the UAE. You will support inspection, maintenance strategy, condition monitoring and asset management using data-driven insights.

The role requires 8+ years in PW engineering, strong analytical skills and collaboration with Operations, Projects and Safety teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in permanent way/track engineering or asset management.
• Experience with rails, sleepers, ballast, switches, crossings, welds and track geometry.
• Proven ability to interpret track geometry and condition-monitoring data.
• Engineering membership or certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain engineering integrity of permanent way assets and track geometry.
• Ensure assets comply with specifications, standards and safety limits.
• Provide specialist PW engineering advice across stakeholders.
• Define inspection regimes and maintenance intervention thresholds.
• Develop tamping, grinding, replacement and renewal strategies.
• Analyze condition data from geometry cars and inspections.
• Investigate defects and root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Support track renewal and improvement programmes.
