Job summary

First Abu Dhabi Bank FAB is seeking a Senior Officer Payment Investigation to manage payment exceptions, reconcile Nostro and Inter-Branch accounts, and investigate discrepancies for timely risk-managed resolution.

The role requires experience with Cards, Nostro, internal reconciliation, SWIFT standards, and MIS reporting, ensuring BAU timelines and strong service delivery to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of banking-sector experience.
• At least 3 years in a similar account reconciliation role.
• Practical experience in Cards, Nostro, and internal reconciliation.
• Knowledge of IntelliMatch or similar reconciliation systems.
• Knowledge of SWIFT standards MT940 and MT950.
• Experience in exception management, payment investigation, operational risk, and MIS reporting.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile Nostro, Inter-Branch General Ledger, card, ATM, CDM and other accounts.
• Verify ledger entries against bank statements and branch ledgers.
• Investigate outstanding items, payment discrepancies, overdrafts, and non-receipt of funds.
• Follow up with branches, departments, business units and correspondent banks until items are resolved.
• Escalate payment exceptions per BAU timelines and escalation matrices.
• Initiate and manage exception-related correspondence via ITRACS.
• Ensure outstanding items are reflected in reconciliation system.
• Monitor Nostro service charges and escalatory matters with FI Group as needed.
• Prepare SWIFT messages for follow-up with correspondent banks.
• Support settlement of deal-rounding differences due to exchange-rate variations.
• Prepare daily MIS reports, dashboards, exception and traffic-light reports.
• Maintain daily tick lists and timely completion of time-sensitive tasks.
• Escalate operational risks and incomplete tasks to Senior Officer/Section Head.
• Update and file records and supporting documents daily.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from internal and external customers.
• Support workload distribution and coverage during leaves.
• Suggest improvements for efficiency, quality, risk controls and reconciliation processes.
• Follow all departmental policies and internal controls.
