Job summary
Virtusa is seeking an OpenShift-focused engineer for the Dubai area to operate and optimize clusters in the banking domain. You will manage provisioning, upgrades, capacity, and health probes while implementing robust security baselines and RBAC policies.
The role involves tuning Java microservices, configuring autoscaling, and leading blue/green or canary deployments. You will own monitoring through Prometheus/Grafana and contribute to DR/runbooks and SLAs.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of OpenShift experience in banking domain
- Experience with AROAKS and GitHub workflows
- Familiar with RBAC and security baselines
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain OpenShift clusters (install, upgrade, patching, capacity management)
- Implement/verify readiness & liveness probes; ensure health endpoints exposed
- Tune Java-based microservices for resource efficiency (memory/GC params); optimize logging
- Configure autoscaling (HPA/cluster autoscaler) according to performance tests
- Manage container artifacts: image registries, image policies; enforce RBAC and security baselines
- Leverage Operator Lifecycle Manager (OLM) for operator installation/upgrade; enforce least-privilege RBAC
- Manage deployments (Deployments/DeploymentConfigs) rollouts and rollbacks; blue/green or canary
- Set up/maintain monitoring alerting and dashboards (Prometheus, Grafana)
- Maintain backup/restore and DR runbooks for clusters and workloads
- Monthly platform health report (capacity, performance, incidents, changes, vulnerabilities)
- Hardened OCP baseline (RBAC, network policies, image policies) and documentation
- CI/CD pipeline catalog with ownership and runbooks
- Knowledge base articles for common runbooks (deployments, rollbacks, scaling, DR)
- Incident RCA reports with CAPA actions
- Configuration and change docs stored in version control
