Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Lead Weight Control Engineer with FEED experience for offshore Gas Cap facilities. You will lead weight engineering activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation phases, ensuring compliance with weight and CoG targets.

You will develop weight management databases, monitor growth trends, and implement mitigation for deviations, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across offshore projects in the Middle East.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in instrumentation and control engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• Experience on ADNOC offshore projects or similar Middle East offshore developments is highly preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of instrumentation systems, control systems, safety instrumented systems, fire and gas systems, and industrial communication networks.
• Proficiency in SPI, AVEVA Instrumentation, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks and related design tools.
• Familiarity with ISA, IEC, API, NFPA and ADNOC engineering standards.
• Strong coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams, vendors, contractors, and clients.
• Ability to work in fast-paced EPC/EPCM/PMC environments on multi-billion-dollar offshore projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the project Weight Control Management Plan and reporting systems.
• Establish weight budgets and monitor compliance across FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Installation phases.
• Maintain the Weight Control Register and ensure accurate tracking of all weights.
• Monitor weight growth trends and identify potential exceedances.
• Perform and review weight estimates, load summaries, and weight reconciliation activities.
• Manage CoG calculations for offshore topsides, jackets, modules, and facilities.
• Evaluate the impact of design changes on weight and CoG.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Telecom disciplines.
• Review EPC contractor and vendor weight control methodologies and deliverables.
• Conduct periodic audits of contractor weight control systems.
• Support structural engineers with weight data for analyses and installation studies.
• Participate in 3D model reviews, design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical assurance workshops.
